Kupwara, Sep 30: Two infiltrators were killed in a joint operation by Army and Jammu and Kashmir police along the Line of Control in Machil Sector in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, police said here.

In a post on X, Kupwara police, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Kupwara police said that the operation was launched based on specific input in Kumkadiara area of Machil Sector.

Police said that during the operation, two infiltrators were killed, while operation was still in progress.

“Based on an intelligence input provided by Kupwara Police, in a joint operation carried by Army and Police in Kumkadiarea of Machal sector, 2 infiltrating terrorists have been killed so far. The operation is still in progress,” police said.

It added that 2 AK rifles, 4 magazine, 90 rounds, a pistol and a pouch and Pak currency was also recovered from the encounter site—(KNO)
