Now, foreign terrorists coming by road from Nepal, Punjab borders to disrupt peace in J&K: Northern Army Commander

Says army has killed many foreign terrorists along LoC in Poonch, Rajouri; Neighbouring country trying to foment trouble as Admin expects 2.25 tourist arrivals this year in UT, will foil all such plans

Jammu, Sep 13 : The northern army commander Lieutenant General Upendera Divwedi Wednesday said that the army has eliminated a foreign terrorists along the LoC in Poonch and Rajouri only but terrorists are infiltration through Nepal and Punjab routes to foment trouble and disrupt peaceful atmosphere in J&K.

Talking to reporters in Jammu, the army commander, as per news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that the army has killed foreign terrorists along the LoC in Poonch and Rajouri only while foiling infiltration bids. “But they (terrorists) are now coming by road from Nepal and Punjab to foment trouble and to disrupt the prevailing peaceful atmosphere in J&K,” he said.

Lt General Divwedi said that in the recent operation where one soldier has also been killed besides the army’s dog, Kent, an effective operation was launched. “Kent saved his handlers during the anti-militancy operation at Rajouri,” he said. The army officers said that in 2022, 1.88 Crore tourists arrived in J&K and this year, the administration expects 2.25 crore tourist arrivals but Pakistan tries to send infiltrators to disrupt the tourism boom. “We are trying all such attempts,” he said—(KNO)
