J&K domicile offer: Govt extends deadline once again

Srinagar, Aug 17: The deadline for the Jammu and Kashmir administration’s offer of domicile certificates to former residents who, or their ancestors, moved out of the erstwhile state years ago has been extended for the fourth time today.

In 2021, the Government in its order had said that no further extension will be granted, however, today for the fourth time, announcing the extension, an order by the J&K Government’s Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, with regard to registration of bonafide Migrants or displaced persons for the purpose of issuance of Domicile Certificate said, “It is hereby ordered that the validity of Government Order No. 52-JK (DMRRR) of 2020 Dated. 16.05.2020 extended vide Government Order No. 44-JK (DMRRR) of 2021 Dated.

22.06.2021 and Government Order No. 30-JK (DMRRR) of 2022 Dated. 10.06.2022 is hereby further extended for a period of one year i.e till 15.05.2024.

The order has been issued by Nazim Zai Khan Secretary to the Government. [KNT]
