Woman’s body exhumed week after death in Mankote Poonch

Jammu, July 25 : Body of a 25-year-old woman was exhumed on Wednesday in Mankote area of Mendhàr sub division in Poonch district.

The woman had died under mysterious circumstances with initial reports suggesting that she consumed some poison on July 20 at Tain Mankato area in Mendhar. She was later taken to hospital where she died, as per officials.

District Magistrate Poonch on the demand of father of the woman later ordered exhumation.

On Wednesday, the body was exhumed in presence of magistrate. The body has been shifted to government sub district hospital Mendhar for postmortem, the officials told GNS.

Besides SDM Mendher M J Khan, Tehsil Haveli Poonch Anjum Bashir Khatak, Tehsildar Mankote Mahroof Qadri, SDPO Sheezen Bhat, SHO Sajad Bania, locals Sarpanch and family members of the woman. (GNS)
