Man stabs mother in Anantnag, held

Srinagar, July 26: Police in South Kashmir’s Ananthnag district on Wednesday claimed to have arrested one accused who allegedly stabbed his own mother.

Reports said that a man stabbed his own mother at Batengoo area of Anantnag; however, after receiving the information, a police team rushed to the spot and within no time arrested the accused person.

They said that the victim (name withheld) has been taken to a nearby hospital, where she has been referred to GMC Ananthnag for advanced treatment.

The official further said that the accused has been identified as Javid Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Mahiddin Dar.

They said a case in this regard has been registered, and further investigation has been initiated.(KS)
