Srinagar, Jul 20: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday evening claimed to have busted a honey trap gang by arresting four of its members in Srinagar.
As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Srinagar Police has said that the gang used to lure gullible people and extort money from them.
“4 members of a honey trap gang arrested 1.Firdous Ahmed Mir of Rainawari (fake SP) 2.Mohd Tariq Mir of lal bazar( Fake reporter) 3.Ashiya of Bemina (pseudo honey trap girl) 4.Masrat Mir of Habba kadal (fake crime branch officer).They use to lure gullible people & extort money,” Srinagar Police tweeted.
Police said that a case under FIR number 68/2023 has been registered at Police Station Sadar in this regard.
“The Girl used to set up meetings with the gullible person. The other members of the gang would impersonate as professionals like reporters/police & then blackmail the victim. One house of female accused in Mehjoor Nagar was used. FIR no 68/2023 U/s 392,472,419 IPC at Sadar PS,” the Srinagar Police tweeted—(KNO)
