Reasi, 15 Jun : Thana Diwas an initiative of Government of J&K UT to bridge the gap between Police and Public and also to listen and redress the grievances of common masses and to ensure Policing at grassroot level organised today at Police Station Katra/Reasi/Mahore/Chassana, Dharmari and Police Post Bhambla by District Police Reasi.
The programme was chaired by Amit Gupta, Sr. Superintendent of Police Reasi alongwith SP Katra Vipan Chandran and SHO P/S Katra at P/S Katra, Addl. SP Reasi Master Popsy-chaired the programme at Dharmari, Dy.SP Hqrs Reasi Neeraj Padyar alongwith SHO P/S Reasi chaired the programme at Charalkote Reasi, SDPO Mahore Chhabil Singh chaired the programme at P/S Mahore, SHO P/S Chassana chaired the programme at P/S Chassana and SHO P/S Pouni chaired the programme at PP Bhambla.
Civil Society members and respectable persons of the areas remained present on the occasions.
During the Programme, participants highlighted various issues of public importance, and they were assured that their genuine grievances pertaining to Police will be resolved on priority and that of Civil Administration will be taken up with the concerned departments for their early redressal.
While speaking on the occasion, SSP Reasi Amit Gupta reiterated that policing at grass root level in the District would be revamped to enhance proficiencies of the cops and to develop confidence among the people.
Referring to social crime SSP added that people should come forward to strengthen the hands to Police and to eradicate the menace of drug abuse and other social crime from the society.
Speaking on the occasion, public representatives and participants were told to be extra vigilant during festival days and keep an eye on the activities of suspicious elements in the society and immediately share details of any suspicious person or activity in their area to nearest police establishments or PCR and helpline numbers 01991244956 /District Anti-Drug helpline No. 9070907017.
