Says ‘Historic Uniform Academic Calendar has streamlined conduct of exams’

Srinagar, Jun 09 : In the maiden uniform academic session, the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education on Friday announced annual regular results of 12th standard for with an overall pass percentage of 65 percent.

The news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) has leant that the girl students yet again have outshined boys in the exams.

According to BOSE, the total pass percentage includes 61 percent in boys and 68 percent among girl students.

BOSE said that a total of 12,763,6 candidates were enrolled for the exams in which 82,441 successfully qualified it.

Stating the overall performance of the candidates, BOSE said that of total of 65,519 male candidates appeared in the examination out of which 40, 045 qualified it and among the female students, a total of 62,116 candidates appeared in the exams out of which 42,395 qualified it.

In the exams, a total of 27,272 students have registered distinctions including 11,283 male students and 15,988 female students.

First division was bagged by 36,393 candidates including 18,685 male students and 17,708 female students respectively.

According to BOSE, Kashmiri Language have 100 percent pass percentage followed by Bodhi with 99 percent, Dogri with 98 percent, Punjabi with 96 percent, Hindi and Urdu 72 percent each.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir have congratulated the students for their success.

“Many congratulations to the students, who have passed JKBOSE class 12th Annual Regular Examination-2023. Wishing you all the very best for your future. Compliments to parents, teachers & @Office_JKBoSE. Historic Uniform Academic Calendar has streamlined conduct of exams,” LG Sinha Twitted.

“Heartening to note that girls continue to outshine boys with 68% pass percentage against boys 61%, the girls have shown the remarkable talent. After Academic Calendar reform, JKBOSE for the first time has made results available on Digilocker service,” he said.

Chairman of JKBOSE Prof Parikshat Singh Manhas said that “It is heartening to know that girls have again outshined boys.”

“Students and their parents deserve great appreciation for their whole-hearted acceptance and cooperation in realizing the visionary goal of unifying the staggered academic sessions in both the union territories of J&K and Ladakh. It is a momentous occasion for all of us as our concerted efforts have yielded fruitful results,” he said.

The chairman also JKBOSE is consistent in its efforts for upgrading and fine-tuning its mechanisms and processes for the student welfare.

Pertinently, the BOSE had identified 444 such schools in the both divisions of Jammu and Kashmir for which annual regular examinations will be held in the month of April instead of March.

Besides, the Board has also declared the whole Leh district of Union Territory of Ladakh as a hard zone and has accordingly directed to conduct the exams in the Month of April.

It had also said that the annual regular examination of hard zones or such areas of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh shall be held in the month of April.

“Result of annual regular examination of Kashmir Division and Jammu division and Union territory of Ladakh including hard zones shall be declared simultaneously in the month of June,” BOSE has said in a notification

This is for the first time, JKBOSE conducted exams in March-April sessions instead of November-December—(KNO)
