2 persons sentenced to 10 years imprisonment in drug seizure case

Srinagar : In order to check the menace of drugs in UT of J&K, Anti Narcotics Task Force (a specialized wing of J&K Police) on 10.12.2020 arrested 02 persons namely Mohammad Shafi Lone S/o Mohammad Ramzan Lone and Bilal Ahmad Dar S/o Gh. Qadir both residents of Sopore, in Case FIR No: 45/2020 U/s 8/21 NDPS Act of Police Station Crime Branch Kashmir at Bramri Chowk Drugmulla Kupwara Highway. The duo were found in possession of total 807 gms of Heroin. After completion of investigation of the instant case, the charge sheet was presented before the Hon’ble Court of Pr. Distt. & Sessions Judge Kupwara on 25/05/2021 against the duo and the same was referred to the Hon’ble Court of Addl. Distt. & Sessions Judge Kupwara on 29.09.2021. During trial prosecution succeeded in proving the case against the accused 1. Mohammad Shafi Lone & 2. Bilal Ahmad Dar beyond reasonable doubts. Both the accused persons were found guilty and were convicted for the offences u/s 8/21 NDPS Act and imprisonment of 10 years and fine of rupees 01 lac has been imposed on each mentioned accused persons today on 02-06-2023. ANTF Kashmir is expecting more conviction orders from the Hon’ble Courts for other under trial NDPS Cases.
