Global Delegates Arrive As 3rd G20 Tourism Working Group Meeting Gets Underway in J&K Today

Srinagar, May 22 : Delegates from various G20 member countries have arrived in Srinagar as the third Tourism Working Group Meeting takes off today amid an all time heightened security cover across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The delegates, as per GNS, were received by Union Tourism Minister G. Kishan Reddy, along with G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant in presence of a host of other dignitaries.

The representatives accorded the delegates a warm welcome albeit in a traditional way, before the cavalcade drove towards SKICC here.

The delegate members will be holding a thorough discussion and deliberations on the five key priority areas viz. Green Tourism, Digitalization, Skills, MSMEs and Destination Management, as informed by Secretary, Ministry of Tourism, Arvind Singh, for next three days – May 24, 2023.

Tight security arrangements have been made in and around Dal Lake to ensure smooth and peaceful conduct of the meeting while Marine Commandos, Army, CRPF and other security personnel have been deployed around the venue.

The Traffic Police City has already issued an advisory to the general public to avoid certain routes falling on the way to the venue (SKICC) for two days.
