Dr Saleem Tak, Medical Superintendent, CD Hospital told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that in around next two weeks, CD hospital will be shifted to Sonwar, which was earlier a children hospital.

Oxygen supply wasn’t available to every bed at Sonwar, however, for chest disease patients there is need for oxygen for every bed on which work is going on, he said.

Work is expected to get complete in the next two weeks and soon after that hospital will start functioning there, Dr Tak said.

Notably last year, H&ME Department ordered the shifting of the Children’s Hospital from Sonwar to Bemina, it also directed the Principal, GMC Srinagar to chalk out an action plan for the shifting of the CD Hospital to GB Panth.

The officials said that the CD Hospital building at Dalgate will be used as an infectious disease hospital while the Tuberculosis division of the pulmonary and respiratory medicine department will also remain functional there.
