Srinagar, Sep 1 : Two persons were on Thursday arrested for their alleged role in capturing and circulating video of a woman here.

“As reported by one (name withheld), resident of Shunglipora that an obscene video of his niece was captured by two boys namely Danish Majeed Bhat, son of Abdul Majeed Bhat, resident of Noorbagh and Aadil Ahmed Rather, son of Abdul Ahad Rather, resident of Shunglipora Noorbagh and they extorted money from victim from time to time on the pretext of circulating the said video on social media and subsequently both accused shared it on WhatsApp among some persons of shangilipora as well”, reads a statement issued to GNS.

“Srinagar Police swung into action and both accused were arrested immediately”, it reads.

“In this regard a case FIR number 169/2022 U/S 354 C, 509 IPC, & 66 E, 67, 67 A IT Act Registered in PS Safakadal and further investigations going in the case”, reads the statement.

The police in the meantime instructed citizens in possession of said clip to delete it immediately, warning further that any circulation by anyone will invoke strict legal action under IT act. (GNS)
