The protesters, according to the reports reaching GNS, also blocked the road and said people have been subjected to “annoyance” due to the “pathetic” road conditions.

The protesters alleged that despite repeated pleas to the concerned authorities, the road was not being repaired. They also appealed Deputy Commissioner Poonch to take up this matter with the concerned authorities and ensure repairs of the road as well as its widening. Later a police team headed by SHO Mendhar Manzoor Kohli reached the spot and pacified the protesting people by assuring them that matter will be brought to the notice of the higher authorities. The protesters later dispersed off peacefully. (GNS)
