Srinagar, Jun 26 : A baby died in mother’s womb at Lal Ded hospital in Srinagar on Sunday following which family members alleged medical negligence and demanded investigation.

Mehrajudin, a resident of Nagam Chadoora while talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that his wife developed labour pain and expected delivery time was on Saturday, so they shifted her to SDH Nagam where she was checked by doctors on yesterday morning, however, doctors said that her water level is very low and she needs to undergo emergency surgery.

He said that she was referred to LD and doctors at LD said that let us wait for normal delivery and didn’t entertain the reports of SDH.

He added that repeated requested to authorities to operate her as her water level was low, but they delayed it by using different excuses like operation threatre isn’t ready.

He said that today morning when they went for doppler, it showed that baby has died before four hours and within a few minutes they operated her wife.

The family members alleged that the baby died due negligence by doctors at LD and demanded the matter be investigated.

Meanwhile, Medical Superintendent LD Dr Muzzafar told KNO that a five member committee has been constituted to enquire the matter and report of the committee will come in next two days following which any decision can be taken—(KNO)
