Kupwara, Jun 19 : A second militant has been killed an ongoing encounter with security forces in Lolab area of Kupwara district, officials said on Sunday.
A senior police officer told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that another militant has been killed taking the toll to two in an ongoing operation in the area. “Heavy exchange of fire is going on, ” he said.
The officer futher said that more reinforcements have also been rushed in to tighten the cordon around the militants.
Earlier, police said the encounter started after the forces launched a operation in Lolab area of the north Kashmir on the instance of an arrested militant, Showket Ahmed Sheikh. During initial stage of gunfight one militant was killed—(KNO)
