Sopore, June 17: The District Development Council (DDC) Chairperson, Rafiabad, Parmeet Kaur visited various hailstorm affected areas on Friday to get a first-hand stock of the situation after the weather fury destroyed crops and various structures in North Kashmir late Thursday evening.
Kaur visited Darli, Hanura, Pazalpura, Zethan, Chatusa, Tangamulla, Kangroisa Pakhwara and Channam villages in Rafiabad.
During her visit, the DDC Chairperson interacted with the affected people and enquired about the losses due to the windstorm. She assured every possible help to all those who suffered losses and said she will take up the issue with the relevant quarters.
Locals informed the DDC Chairperson that most of their homes were partially damaged due to gusty winds and hailstorm.
Rain and hail storms lashed several areas of North Kashmir, Baramulla and Kupwara districts on Thursday.
