Local sources told GNS that CHC Hajin and Health Centre Sumbal received at least two dozen dog bite cases, which included women and children.

When contacted a doctor at CHC Hajin told GNS that nine dog nibble cases were received last Saturday, while one on Sunday, three on Monday, and three on Tuesday – who were accordingly administered with anti-rabies.

Concurring with the reports, a doctor at CHC Sumbal said that they received three dog bite victims last Saturday, one on Sunday, three on Monday.

Meanwhile, a group of residents from Ajas village blamed administration for sheer negligence and inattention towards the three key nallahs – Shalamnaar Nallah, Baedkul Nallah and Drer Koul, stating the rivulets have transformed into dumping destinations.

They asserted that deteriorating state of rivulets is the actual cause of the staggering population of the canines.
