Srinagar, Jun 04 : In first of it’s kind initiative, Dubai Grand International School (DGIS) on Saturday organized an event marking the celebration of ‘Mother’s Day’ at school premises, during which students washed the feet of their mothers.
In a statement issued to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), school said the event saw a record participation of parents in the ‘Feet Washing Ceremony’ in which students of the school washed the feet of their mothers on stage.
On the occasion, Chairman of Dubai Grand International School, Mohammad Haneef Bhat stated that the event aims to promote moral education and excellent ethics among students.
“We are emphasizing on moral education, which teaches a child about the core disciplinary rules of life.”
On the occasion students of the school performed various programmes and exhibited contemporary dance that expressed love for Mothers.
Pertinent to mention that the event was scheduled on May 8 but due to the sudden demise of the father of the chairman the event was postponed—(KNO)
