CBI arrests SHO of PS Loran for accepting bribe

Srinagar, Apr 13 : The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested SHO, Police Station Loran, Poonch (J&K) for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant.

“A case was registered on complaint against the accused on the allegations of demanding bribe. It was alleged that a complaint was lodged in Police Station Loran, Poonch against the complainant by his sister-in-law, in a matter of land dispute. It was further alleged that the accused demanded bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant for closing the complaint lodged against him,” a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reads.

“CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 10,000 from the Complainant. Searches were conducted at the office and residential premises of the accused at Poonch and Jammu,” the statement said, adding that the arrested accused is being produced today before the Court of Special Judge, Anti-Corruption (CBI Cases), Jammu—(KNO)
