Poonch, Feb 28 : A person was killed and two others injured after a car they were travelling in fell in a deep gorge at Mendhar in Poonch district on Monday late evening.

Reports reaching GNS said that a vehicle – Alto Car – bearing registration number JK03C 9601, skidded off the road and fell in a deep gorge along Gursai link road in Mendhar, resulting in on spot death of a person and injuries to two others.

The deceased has been identified as Fardous Ahmad Malik son of Mohammad Akram Malik, resident of Fazlabad and the two injured as Tahir Shabir son of Shabir Hussain, resident of Gursai and Irfan Fazli son of late Sana Ullah Khan, resident of Mohra Bachhai.

The injured duo was shifted to SDH Surankote from where Tahir Shabir was referred to GMC Rajouri for preferential treatment.

Meanwhile SHO Gursai Farooq Ahmed has also confirmed to GNS about the accident and subsequent death of a person and injuries to two others. (GNS)
