Srinagar, Feb 4 : Vice President Jamiat Ahl-e-Hadith Jammu and Kashmir Dr. Abdul Latif Alkindi has alerted people, especially netizens, asking them to refrain from, circulating and posting the ‘false’ picture of Shaykh-ul-Islam Maulana Sanaullah Amritsari (RA).
“Time and again a particular picture is being shared under the name of Shaykh-ul-Islam Maulana Sanaullah Amritsari (RA), which instead of Shaykh is of Sana ullah Ferozepuri (RA)”, Dr. Alkindi in a statement issued to GNS said.
Explaining it, the scholar says there is no picture of Shaykh-ul-Islam Maulana Sanaullah Amritsari (RA) available anywhere. “Those posting pictures with his name are requested to refrain from such things, more so because it brings a bad name to the scholar and to Islam itself”, he said.
Dr. Alkindi remarked that Islam encourages healthy debate among its adherents. “Islam promotes an environment in which members of a group or society sit together and share their intellect as well as their ideas on issues that affect the collective well-being of every being, he said adding the religion of Islam at the same time discourages any endeavour that is aimed to look down at others.”
The acclaimed scholar said that “rumor mongering is among the many types of communication that Islam forbids categorically.”
Quoting the holy Quran, Dr. Alkindi remarked that Allah Almighty says; “Verdict of Islam; “O you who believe! If a Faasiq (liar – evil person) comes to you with any news, verify it, lest you should harm people in ignorance, and afterwards you become regretful for what you have done.” (49:6)
“In this ayah Allah Almighty explains the problem as well as the solution to it”, the scholar said.
“With one or two encounters’ or interactions with a person, one is able to judge whether the next person is a liar or not, therefore, once that things is gauged, then a Muslim should always verify and weigh the news brought by such a person to him or her. Lying is the root cause behind the existence of rumor, therefore the one who knows that the news has come from a lying person, he or she should stop and verify it before spreading it to others. Any action undertaken on the news of a liar without any verification is definitely to cause an action that a true Muslim would regret in future”, the scholar explained.
Quoting a Hadith (saying of Prophet Muhammad Peace and Blessings Be Upon Him), Dr. Alkindi said that Prophet Muhammad (SallAllahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) regarded spreading of a rumor as a form of lying in the Hadith: “Should I tell you what is a blatant lie? It is a rumor circulating among people.” [Muslim].
Notably, Dr. Alkindi himself himself written a thesis on the life and works of Shaykh-ul-Islam Allama Amritsari (RA) – an acclaimed scholar of twentieth century. (GNS)
