Uri, Jan 7 : Uri adminstration in Baramulla district Friday inspected several public places to see general adherence to the publicised covid protocols in the frontier town.

SDM Uri Harvinder Singh alongside officials of police, revenue and municipal committee visited main market, bank branches and other public places during the inspection.

An official, part of the team, told GNS that those found without face masks were intercepted and fined instantly.

“A fine in tune of rupees 3100 were realised from the violators”, he said.

SDM Uri Harvinder Singh in the meantime appealed people to maintain utmost caution amid fresh spurt in cases.

“People should follow social distancing norms, wear masks and give due regard to other necessary protocols”, he said.

Regarding the inspection carried out today, the SDM told GNS that “People associated with banks, vehicle drivers and other service providers were warned to follow the protocols besides they asked to ensure the customers visiting them do the same.”

“Any contravention from anyone will attract action under relevant law”, he said.

“We already have incurred huge losses during second wave and don’t want to let it happen once again”, he said while reiterating his advise to public to follow all necessary protocols in due spirit. (GNS)
