“The role of media is to highlight issues of people and apprise government and public about it. Seeking donations and alms is not what media is meant for. The Magistrate Ganderbal has done an appreciable job as a fair inquiry will help to stop this alms- seeking in the name of poor and then collecting the name in one’s own Trust,” several media persons said.
It is to mention that the above said Facebook user has in the past run same alms seeking appeals by interviewing poor and collecting money into his own Trust.
People have demanded that all transactions into the Trust’s account should be probed so that all the donors must know how and where their money was used.
