Srinagar, October 31: A shutdown is being observed in Kashmir valley against new land laws notified by the central government.
Markets in business hub Lal chowk in capital Srinagar were shut, however private vehicles were seen plying on various roads.
As per the new laws any Indian can now buy non-agricultural land in Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier in August last year central government scrapped special constitutional status of Jammu and Kashmir and reorganized it into two union territories of J&K and Ladakh.
