Sopore, : Water scarcity sparked massive protest in Dangarpora area of North Kashmir’s Sopore town of Baramulla district.

People from three localities of Dangarpora including Maidanpora, Beighpora and Batpora hit to roads and staged massive protests against water scarcity in the area.
The protesting residents said they are without drinking water from past couple of months and the concerned department is watching as a mute spectator.

The protesters told news agency KNT that a water supply pipe line passes through their areas and yet they are without drinking water.

“Other areas get drinking water round the clock but we face acute water shortage. Despite repeated pleas to the concerned officials, nothing changed on the ground,” they said.

The protesters sought intervention of Deputy Commissioner Baramulla and appealed Chief Engineer to look into the matter.
